Canadian Times

And after a very sluggish beginning of the week we're finally at the beginning of our vacation to the land of maples and gay marriages, ey!

David falanx got back from Indiana just yesterday and today we've been packing and preparing for our departure tonight. This is going to be so much fun! First of all most of the travel and of the lodging has been arranged either thorugh points (or miles) and through hospitable friends... and secondly it's going to be just so much fun to be travelling in new places!

Here are the highlights of our upcoming trip:

• Departure tonight on a red-eye flight from SFO to Buffalo, NY!

Now that you've recovered from your disgusted expression at the aforementioned statement, let me continue...

• Rent a car in Buffalo and start driving towards the border.... (ah!, ok... :) )
• Drive through Niagara Falls!
  
• Drive through Toronto (don't worry we'll come back) and all the way to Montreal, just in time for...
• Pride!!!! Montreal pride is supposed to be lots of fun.
• Charming stay in a local, gay-operated, bed and breakfast for a few days with a day excursion to..
• Quebec City! Which is supposed to be aboslutely gorgeous... and then back to
  
• Toronto! We'll be staying for a few days with my friend Chris and then another couple at a local hote... with plenty of time to explore and visit all interesting parts of the city!
• Yeah I know, the bad part is here... the drive back to Buffalo (ew) and another red-eye back to California

We'll be packing camera, iPod photo and iBook so we should be able to amply document the trip and report now and then on how it's going. I'll try. Promised.

PS Things at work are very interesting these days. Interesting as in ambiguously interesting.... good or bad.... don't know yet. But we're certainly stuck with a few very challenging puzzles. I'm really trying  to reorganize ideas on this recent work because I'd like to be able to put together a paper and submit it before Septemeber, but the bright lightbulb above my head hasn't lit up yet! Done lots of thinking about my thesis topic too, and some major reading too so soon enough I'll feel like I actually have something to write on my other blog. We'll see

PPS Has anybody noticed how good I'm being at updating my blog all of a sudden? I think we all have Ironman boy to thank for that. Anyway, we'll se how long it lasts.

And now back to packing. Yay.
